It happens a lot when children become teenagers, both with them selves and the environment around them. Now they’ll take one step forward into the world of grown-up. They often feel splited. Sometimes they want to sit with mom or dad, sometimes they know how to manage it all by them selves. By the law they’re not of age until 18. It’s important how we help our children during the difficult age of teenagers.
First, the 15th birthday is a huge step in teenagers life, they can drive moped legal and also feel the freedom. Friends in school envy they who just turned 15. Talk about moped make, trim and acceleration of the speed will start. Mopeds are designed at a speed of 30-45 km/h but it’s the easiest thing in the world to speed up without being clever. What is parents view on the matter? A sufficient number of parents think it’s alright to speed-up the moped, because all the others do that so it doesn’t matter.
Second, night life will begin and it’s exciting. Broken hearts, curiosity of alcohol and drug are any consequences that may arise. Awareness about their attractive will be a big part of the weekday; they’ll have to fit in. Others opinion is important, does she thinks I look grate? The first warm summer evening entice into feeling of solidarity outdoors, where big girls and boys make a great impression. A pinch off snuff or smoke a fag it’s not so bad. Everyone else has tried it before. Some beer or a gulp of liquor don’t any harm either, or?
Although, to know the right later in life they have to try. As a young adult you have to take responsibility for your action. You must learn which way is right and stand for the consequence. It’s now or never you’ll be learning about the world of grown-up. You have to learn by your mistakes and therefore it’s important to try out different ways. We’ll hear a lot of varying alternatives, how our children will have their knowledge. The question is if we help them or knock them over in our reasoning?
Finally, as parents and adults we have a responsibility against our teenagers to help them find and also try the right way. The most important is that we show them where we stand in the questions about mopeds, alcohol, drugs and other important things. It won’t work if we think we have right to stand out the law and let them try illegal things. Sometimes it’s maybe hard to say NO if we drink alcohol, but we can always lean against the law. I’ll think if we are clear in our liability, we give our children a secure attitude and thanks to that a calm and collected adolescence.

Don't worry, be happy
Sweden is a country we should be proved of. We are used to have it safe and to have good security around us. We think it is a democratic matter of course to walk around without a fear and also use the opportunities which surrounds us. The evolution progress with a high speed and even there the Swedish people want to feel safe. There are security system and precautionary measure everywhere for our safety’s sake. I don’t want to change our security system but its important how we make use of it.
First, we are use to see Camera surveillance signs everywhere. We’ll see them in restaurants, shops, gas-stations, banks and even in some schools, but do we feel that it intrude to our integrity. We must think of it from a security point of view, and as a suburb protection against crime. A lot of criminal elements have been investigated thanks to a small lens somewhere. The main thing is the use of it, to convict the guilty person and not use the cameras for own profit.
Second, something we have been use to is PIN code to and fro and an abundance of login information. Sometimes we’ll be irritated to have one more card or login to keep under control, but we know it’s for our security and that we've it because there're people who enjoy their self to use the database to line one’s pocket. Today everything will be entering in a register as buying clothes, food, gas, trainings card, and bank business and so on. I can feel the frustration which of the numbers I shall use, when I must login at a new page or make an announcement for a new course. Or when I’ve bought a product at a good offer and have to pay full price because I’ve forgot the card back home to reduce the price.
Although, a disadvantage of our security safety system and all the precautionary measure is if someone abuse it and obstruct the daily weekday. Today they consider if the insure companies should have right to read persons casebook before they insure someone, to see if they have any diseases. It’s also safety regulations at place on work so it could be difficult to perform the work which must be done. Persons with different kind of functional disorder and old one’s must be incapacitated so they could be helped from relatives with the necessities of life, also because of the system. I think it’s necessary to value the different measures sometimes so they don’t infringe the human rights we are so proud of.
Finally, both camera surveillance, PIN code and login information is a way of protect each citizen and theirs human rights. As long as we have people who can’t separate right from wrong we must have this kind of securities. The Swedish safety system and all the precautionary measure of today are for the honorable and we must hope that the others get caught in the safety net.

Grading, use or not...
Today we talk a lot about grades and grading in school. From time to time politicos transform the system. From one day to the next, we should use numbers (1,2,3,4,5) well done or not (MVG, VG, G; IG) and letters (A, B, C…). But does it really matter? No one is the same and it’s important to think about that. If the knowledge has to be value, we must see the individual and after that receive the grade. I am against grades in primary school, but if we must they must be of great use.
First, I think of the competition against the pupils if we have grades early. They, who are gifted will probably match each other if they know about the grades. They, who already have a tough time and hard to learn, probably are feeling worse than before.
Second, the marks can alter between different schools and units. In that case we must have nationwide coverage scale, where there is specific information about what the pupils ought and shall know for a stage that has passed. This will be a pattern to work after. If teachers work after that scale, it won’t be misleading.
Although, pupils could be inhibited and aspired, it could be good with early marks. Pedagogue then early could see how the learning process has been and also if any achievement must be done. To help these pupils early, we must think that the community has possibility to put in some money for support.
Finally, I must say that I don’t think using early mark/grade is being no use for either the school or pupils. It has been bad economy for a long time now, and a number or a letter on a paper doesn’t help them if the money doesn’t exist. But if we give pupils a safe ground to stand on and help them from their condition, we also do the best use to them.

The world cries for help...
Nobody could say that we don’t know what’s happening around the world. But still we don’t seem to take the facts seriously. I think the way most of us live, make it difficult to think about the climate change all the time. But if everyone does small contribute, it would help a lot. Is it hard to understand what we’re doing to our world, because we don’t see the consequences immediately?
First, we can see the way we use our cars. Every child want a nice new bike, the latest model and probably very expensive. But do they use it? No, they want us to drive them to friends, different activities and so on. And we do it! Just to save a lot of time and energy not arguing with our children. Even if the gas prices have doubled, we still use our cars more than enough. This proved that we only complaining over the higher price instead of not using them so much and be a great help to surviving the world. The buses and trains maybe not exist or not correspond with the schedule we have, so we take the auto. I think, that we overuse it because we can’t see how much exhaust emissions we poisoned our world with immediately, can we?
Second, as things are, we buy far too many new things. Because, it’s cheaper to buy something new instead of repair the old one. Our society is build to throw on to the rubbish heap. To fix something today, costs a lot of money. If the TV goes out of order, there always offer prices to tempt us buy new one and the best way for the wallet because it’s tremendously cheap. The refuse dump gets bigger and bigger, but we still don’t understand the consequences of our buying.
Third, I think all of us have a vision to saving the world. But it’s not easy for none of us to doing it by our-self. On one hand it’s the economy who partly decides if we could buy cars, food and so on, which are good for the climate change, as well as our way of living. We try to sort out household waste and not buy for example fruit which is sprayed with pesticide. Everyone knows partly how we should live but we don’t always have the possibility. The most important is that we know that the climate change still going on even if we don’t see all the effects yet.
Finally, it’s important to work with climate change and how it will affect us all over the world. Sweden is a small country, and fully aware that something will happen sooner or later. And we’re trying to do our best to work things out by having control of dumping emission from factories and so on. The information must be spread all over and to everyone, so we could make the ozonosphere dense again. The world will remind us about our way of living, by earthquakes, cloudburst of rain and dangerous sunshine. So if we think a little bit longer we could now see some of the consequences the climate change already has giving us.

Always on
I always hear the sound from the TV. But it’s not necessary that someone is sitting watching. I put the stand by button. Next time I hear a sound, it’s on again! I leave it on. I start doing something, maybe the homework or dinner. I listen with one ear what’s happening on the screen. A loud sound or a voice I recognize makes me go to the living room to look. If there is an interesting program I am stuck… The rest must wait…
I never been a TV-viewer but sometimes I find a program that I must follow. For many years ago I had to see, Big Brother. I wasn’t fascinated by it, but I couldn’t miss it either. I felt that they, who lived in the house by this time, were so stupid. They’ll did everything; I mean everything in the house, even that there were cameras everywhere. I wondered a lot of time, what their parents thought about the whole idea, watching their children behave them selves like this. Now I have followed another program but not like the other one. Now I more like building program.
There have been two programs I have followed and enjoyed lately. One called “The angry carpenter”, whom always scolds somebody, because he/she has started too many project at the same time, and never comes to the end. Then I also like one called “building permit”, and in this series there are a lot of handy and skilled persons helping families with their dreams. Why do I watch this kind of series? Maybe it’s because me and my family also have a dream about our house. We started to make it bigger, nearly three years ago. Should I call someone to help us with the house… Not the angry carpenter, because I know he should scold me to, but maybe the building permit, they seems nicer. Action is also a pleasant kind of topic, I think. When the day comes to the end I need something to clear the brain with.
The last thing Ido before I fell asleep is to see a short time on an action or comedy film. It doesn’t matter if I have seen it before or not. I’ll only see a couple of minutes before I’m dreaming sweet dreams. The sound makes me so sleepy and this time I’m not so curious about the sound so I’ve to look… GOOD NIGHT!

Where and how shall they be...
Today, we hear and read much about how teenagers are lazy, unpleasant and only makes a lot of trouble. I don't think it's different from the past. We must help those youth who get on the wrong track, instead of only complaining. No one is born evil, or???
A lot of teenagers maybe feel lost. They've nothing to do and no place to go. Both parents and the community must let the teenagers have a place were they can meet each other and have some fun. Of course, adults must have entrance to this place also, so we could check it up now and then. Perhaps, many of these don't have families who let them in if they are many.
It's necessary to let our children know that we love them and understand them. When I was young, my mother and father always let me and my friends in to our home. I've always loved horses and after we've finished the stable, me and my friends bicycled back home and made us some food. Now later on I understand that we maybe not always have clean clothes on, but mother didn't complain. We always felt us welcome. I hope my own children also have the same feeling that I have. They've a lot of cars and other things to and they've a lot of friends who will help them all the time. They're always welcome.
If we only let us know the teenagers, we'll see that they're really nice persons. I think it's our responsibility to let the teenagers and all the children to feel that we've something common. If we trust them and let them help us with different things, they learn a lot for the future and they also get a confidence that they manage things. I've met a lot of friends to my children and I think it's great when they stop and talk to me. Even if they don't have my children with them, they talk for a while and ask me to say Hello to the boys back home. That makes me worm!
